You probably don't need to change the size of the swap partition. 2XRAM is only a guideline. If you do need more swap space, it is probably easier to add another swap partition rather than trying to enlarge the one you have. Use QTparted to shrink an existing partition by, the amount you need and create the partition, then add it to /etc/fstab.
