Hello,Is it harmless if we shut down with the command init 0? Are there big differences between halt, shutdown -r now and init 0?
See the man pages for 'halt' and 'shutdown'.Unless told otherwise, shutdown operates by signalling init, so "shutdown", "halt", "init 0", and "telinit 0" are all equivalent. Halt calls shutdown if the system is not already at runlevel 0 or 6, so that is also normally equivalent.
