I've tried to follow a couple of recent lkml threads on reiser4, and well, there still seems to be a lot of resistance to including it in mainline. I don't think we'll see it soon...

For resizing, your best bets (for journalling fs) are ext3 and reiser3. XFS is growable, but not shrinkable.
