Just booted into my new Gentoo install. It complains that some device files are missing, but doesn't say which. It gives a recommeded fix, which I execute, but doesn't work (the device files are still apparently missing on reboot). During the install, I had issues with missing the files created by MAKEDEV std, and later by MAKEDEV update, but ran both of those to get past it. Furthermore, when trying to bring up vi, or nano they both complain about not knowing about the terminal. TERM is set to "linux" (I alsl tried vt100). Any ideas?
