gentoo-wiki.com has an article on software suspend 2, which is
apparently a more advanced version than what is in the regular
sources. I started to follow the directions, but I noticed that there
is an ebuild required, suspend2-sources, that is either a patch
utility or a completely new set of kernel sources. Currently, I don't
really care all that much about extra features from a new version of
software suspend; I just want to get it to work. A full set of kernel
sources would be rather undesirable, so I'd rather not going down that
road. What would be the best plan of action?

I just remerged hibernate-script and ran it (after saving everything :P
). The one problem: I have to shut down X11 because the nvidia driver
has to be unloaded before hibernation is started. This is, of course,
with software suspend (vs. software suspend 2). Does SS2 contain a
workaround that would be worth the upgrade?
