I've managed to break bootmisc, I think by trying to tweak it
according to the 'flying with gentoo' forum thread.

I restored the back up but two errors still come up repeatedly at boot
(presumably whenever init tries to use a bit of bootmisc). They are a
complaint that "mtimes differ" and "failed to calculate module
dependencies, run /etc/init.d/depscan.sh".

Depscan seems completely happy, but the errors remain. How can I
regenerate bootmisc? I tried re-emerging baselayout but it made no
changes.

Any advice very much welcome.

Tom
