Odd. Does your user have read/write priveleges to /dev/dri/card0 (and any other cardN devices that may be there)? Try running `chmod a+rw /dev/dri/*` as root and see if glxinfo reports that you're using direct rendering. If this works you'll need to add yourself to the video group:
