I just installed my first off-board video card, an Asus N6600GT. Followed the nvidia guide, it worked like a champ under kernel 2.6.11-gentoo-r5. Got a gazillion frames per second.
Upgraded the kernel to r6. No joy, X won't start, can't find valid module. Says me, I'll just go through the steps in the guide again. No joy. Reverted to the r5 kernel, it works great. Can someone initiate me in the mysteries of nvidia and doing kernel upgrades? Thanks. Bill Roberts
