Hi all,
I'm new to gentoo. I'm using it since July 2004. And it is working like a charm!!
I'd like to say thank you very much to all Gentoo guys and gals who make this happen!
I have one doubt:
I'm using my box primarily for development and gaming :)
While developing, I faced the following problem.
I have installed VMware.
I compile and run my own src version of Postgresql, so it is not emerged, althought I do have a postgresql emerged.
When I start my home version of Postgresql and try to connect to it from vmware, I get a connection refused.
If I /etc/init.d/postgresql start, it works like a charm.
Note that both servers are configured to listen on tcp port 5432. So this is not the problem :)
What can be the problem? Permission? If so, how can I configure it so that vmware can connect to my postgresql home version?
