I didn't follow the thread (didn't read the original question), but i had
serious trouble with the 2.4.22 kernel and distcc and had to change back
to an older kernel (2.4.19). With 2.4.22, distcc threw tons of errors
at any attempt to compile distributed... but it seems that noone else
faced this phenomena..
