My CFLAGS:
CFLAGS="-mcpu=athlon-tbird -O2 -pipe"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"

Also here are the USE flags that are in effect:
[ebuild U ] sys-devel/gcc-3.2.3-r2 [3.2.3-r1] -static +nls -bootstrap
+java -build
I am guessing maybe to remove +java????
