The thing is i've given up on gnome. I don't really use it. I just like to
have KDE and gnome installed, just so that no programs try to compile it
as dependencies.

Its not only todo with gnome-panel. Its other programs aswell. Once i
tried installing gnome and it passed gnome-panel, then it died on the next
app. Then tried emerging gnome again and it reinstalled gnome-panel and
died :-(
Anyway, i gave up.
