When I do emerge -up world, I can see that it wants to add some not installed packages. How can I check, which ebuild requires it? I have a console only machine and the emerge wants to install xemacs.
Generally, you should do 'emerge gentoolkit' and then 'etcat -d <packagename>'. However, I'm not sure if this will work for packages that are not installed.
My guess is that you probably have some use flags enabled that relate to xemacs. Recheck them using 'ufed' and try again. Just some thoughts.
