Nay, most probably, your download is getting cached by your gateway or firewall. Try downloading the file via FTP (instead of letting wget or prozilla download it) them check the sfv (or simply try emerging povray at this point). Don't forget to copy your manually downloaded file over the old one, in /usr/portage/distfiles/. Sometimes it happens, and it's unavoidable, since the network proxy has cached the file.
