Varnish has been my proxy of choice lately and we're using it heavily
at my latest startup. They also publish their own debs and rpms via
their repo which is quite nice if you're not using Gentoo in production.
I've never had any problems with Squid, but I've only run 2.6/2.7 in
prod.
