Of course it's doable, but there are better choices for binary-based distros 
than doing all that.
I'm sure it works ok, but if you want to avoid compiling, or having a compiler, 
then the best idea
sounds like not using a source-based distro. Even cluster-oriented distros, for 
example.

Anyway, this is a Gentoo list, so I'll never say a "choose another thing 
instead of Gentoo"-like
phrase never again :P
