For ruby we have https://github.com/gentoo/ruby-tinderbox which uses Docker to run tests not just for the current USE_RUBY targets of the package but also the next target, so that it can generate a list of packages that are ready to get their next target. I expect this could be useful for Python as well. Current status is that it works but it is a bit fiddly to get going, and currently we don't run this. Hans
