Speaking as the current python lead, we don't claim "ownership" of everything in dev-python. As a Gentoo developer, I find it silly to raise a stink on a mailing list over what appears to be a very simple version bump of a very simple ebuild. This is not going to convince anyone that a peer review workflow is a desirable thing; I don't want to have someone rubber stamp every trivial version bump.
