Perhaps some day in the future. The current state is disenchanting: Practically nothing on Android or on iOS (no audio, not to speak about video; it is unclear whether there ever will be). When tox is finished and working on all platforms and easily usable and installable for non-experts, it might some day become a possible alternative for skype. I am looking forward for that day. However, until that day is reached, please do not think about removing skype from the portage tree.
