Hacking an init system is different to hacking e.g. desktop or Web programs. Unless Daniel happens to be a seasoned veteran init system hacker, having a mentor will be a significant boost.
It would be cool if some of the OpenRC hackers had the time to set up a developer's wiki or similar, where they share their workflow and similar. When last I hacked on OpenRC there was nothing like this, and not many people had time to help me (William was quite helpful though), so I was left blindly poking things and trying to figure out things myself. This is a somewhat demotivating process. P.S. we should likely do this for other Gentoo projects as well; for instance Portage. - -- Alexander berna...@gentoo.org https://secure.plaimi.net/~alexander -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.22 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://www.enigmail.net/ iF4EAREIAAYFAlOTttgACgkQRtClrXBQc7UZegD+MlEko0JVgT6GQS10btBZIXaN M3UBtvcXoEffNFm9Ry0BAJz8b/o/nxa3JCibHk4B3E2+hxKUhjVZA1ocBROGiF5c =PgD7 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
