except it isn't linux specific. if you follow upstream, you'll see that people are constantly making sure that it is possible to build it on non-linux systems. > uuid functions are provided by either e2fsprogs-libs or the > libc on freebsd. e2fsprogs-libs hasn't provided libuuid in a long time. that those are still in the tree is part laziness. relying on it to provide libuuid isn't going to work. -mike
