Hello fellow devs, We're pleased to announce that EAPI 4 is now available and allowed in the main tree, in ~testing ebuilds :)
New features in EAPI 4 include REQUIRED_USE, pkg_pretend, REPLACING_VERSIONS and REPLACED_BY_VERSION and various other interesting changes and fixes. To find out more about EAPI 4, you can read the latest version of the Package Manager Specification [0][1]. A shortlist of all the changes is also available there [2]. Please note that at this moment only ~testing Portage supports EAPI 4. This means that you'll have to avoid any stabilization of EAPI 4 ebuilds until a newer version of Portage is stabilized. Many thanks to all the people who worked to make EAPI 4 possible!
