No complaints here, FYI never used alsa-driver. I have always compiled
it in, because rarely do I change sound cards in a machine. Or have the
need to not have sound drivers loaded, or unload them. Try to have as
few modules as possible.

All valid reasons, and of course like other things not in kernel. Not
much choice there.
