Most of the mirrored repositories aren't on Gentoo git server.  This is
part of the problem, because we're already seeing git incompatibilities
between Codeberg and GitHub.


Ah, this makes a lot of sense. Codeberg in particular has been hit hard with DoS attacks recently; I bet it has been maintenance-hell. Thanks for the context.
