For those that use the earch tool, I've written a new version that has support for SLOTs as well as masked packages (profiles, p.mask, missing keywords - any masking supported by portage).
http://dev.gentoo.org/~robbat2/earch-0.3 Try it on sys-devel/gcc for example, where there are presently 7 slots in action. It doesn't currently get the multislot stuff as used by binutils correct, but I'm working on that still. Be sure to read the --help output, to see some of the specific new features (hide masked packages, display masking method, display specific SLOT only).
