I haven't read GLEP 20 for some time now, so my apologies if this is clear in my original draft. My original intention for the srvdir USE flag was to cope with these two situations: a) Apps that have compile-time paths that can't be overridden w/ runtime configuration b) Apps that have runtime configuration, which we could setup to work with /srv out of the box. I don't believe that it's practical to specify a layout for /srv that fits everyone. I use /srv/<fqdn>/<service> on some of the boxes I look after, but some of them run /srv/<customer>/<fqdn>/<service> instead. Which packages do you want to add the srvdir global USE flag for?
