Forget it. Not maintainable, doesn't make any sense at all and won't happen. 
And it's not like gtk1/gtk2. An application working with KDE 3.0 works as 
fine with KDE 3.5. gtk1/gtk2 is comparable to KDE 3.x/KDE 4.x.
