mounting devtmpfs at /dev has helped some victims, menuconfig:
Device Drivers  --->
Generic Driver Options  --->
(/sbin/hotplug) path to uevent helper 
[*] Maintain a devtmpfs filesystem to mount at /dev
[*] Automount devtmpfs at /dev, after the kernel mounted the rootfs
