Hi,
I had a little fight last weekend with bluetooth and ended up with following
working setup:

sys-apps/hal-0.5.13-r2
sys-fs/udev-145
net-wireless/bluez-4.39
net-wireless/gnome-bluetooth-2.27.9-r1

I case of more question I might help..
