23.8 was the day I updates to jpeg-7 and -compat was not there. More correctly, it was not installed. A friend updated on Monday and -compat was there. So.. it's a bit muddy. You have two options: go without -compat. revdep-rebuilt will fix all breakage and you can go on go with -compat, revdep-rebuilt is not needed. But what lies ahead in the future?
