The Sorlucene :) merger could be achieved virtually, i.e. via policy, rather than physically merging: 1. Transfer Solr stuff that logically belongs in Lucene over to Lucene. 2. Make Solr depend on Lucene trunk. 3. Block any future commits to either project that don't have a coordinating change for the other project. 4. Coordinate releases. Done. Steve
