I can feel the pain of changing the project name; the name search process is light. It's up to the champion to help the potential podling projects address those problems before graduation. How about we put it into Champion's checklist but not the bar for entering the incubator?
By the way, we don't suggest the podling project register the trademark before graduation since it could be easier for the ASF to handle it than doing the trademark transfer process (which could take years of work).
