This is the second incubator release for Apache Streams, with the artifacts being versioned as 0.2-incubating.
All blocking issues raised during IPMC voting for rc2 have been addressed. Specifically, we've removed all test data of indeterminate license, or containing any potentially personally identifiable information from this release candidate, and started a discussion regarding the matter on legal-discuss. LEGAL DISCUSSION THREAD: http://markmail.org/message/w3lzmfopnc3lw65d We are requesting at least one additional IPMC member vote, as we have received 2 binding IPMC +1 vote during the release voting on streams-dev. NOTE: Streams currently requires Java 1.7.0u72+, or Java 1.8.0u25+ during build phase. [ ] +1 approve [ ] +0 no opinion [ ] -1 disapprove (and reason why) ABOUT PODLING STREAMS: Apache Streams (incubating) is a lightweight (yet scalable) framework for ActivityStreams. The architecture for the Apache Streams project is essentially a loosely coupled set of modules which provide, process, or persist documents and metadata, with a preference for ActivityStreams formatted messages. Streams contains libraries and patterns for specifying document schemas and converting documents to and from ActivityStreams format, and runtime bindings for deploying, monitoring, and interfacing with running streams. Streams is heavily influenced by Enterprise Integration Patterns and general messaging architecture. It is the goal of the project to support multiple execution containers, including distributed deployments.
