I'd push back on needing a grant/CLA. It's a nice-to-have when the
other code is AL 2.0 (or another category A license, but especially AL
2.0); it's not a requirement. If you've done your best, then doc that
and move along. It does mean including that individuals name in the
NOTICE probably.
