Noel, there are really two aspects to what is being discussed here as I observe it - willingness to work together and the Apache process. It seems everybody has exhibited a willingness to work together although from their own particular vantage point of the same elephant :-).
It's all rather interesting that a formal proposal has so much support but is blocked on what seem to be procedural grounds. If we can resolve the "process" log jam through established means the other "collaboration" issues (puns intended) will be resolved within the community formed around Ode. If you are asking me if Sybase will cooperate with the Ode project, my answer is clearly yes because the Sybase contributors helped author the proposal. I'll even take credit for the sad name but a lot of other people have energy behind this effort and the key issues at hand are clearly less about Sybase or PXE and more about Apache. If you are asking me if Ode belongs in some specific area of Apache, I'd like to defer to the Apache process for a while longer so as not to break the process inadvertently or seek to change the process prematurely if it is already broken. I appreciate some latitude for a bit on this point for the sake of the other proposal stake holders. On 2/15/06, Noel J.
