Eg with the MARC archive or mail-archive.com or gmane or whatever. In the HTTP space, we have lots of tools for URI management (eg mod_rewrite, Redirect, RedirectMatch), in the email space (eg mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]) we don't have it (we just have a simple form of a "Redirect" that doesn't propagate, eg we don't have a "Moved Permanently"). Hence, I remain of the opinion that effort should be taken to make email addresses "As permanent as possible".
