Thank Noel, for getting this done. Ted's been a great mentor and did make the point to us a couple of times. We were in a tight spot with having two completely separate repositories with different tools. Furthermore, it was by far the most disruptive part of the move. Ted would have had a hard time convincing us (especially me) to make such a committment before we had felt out the Apache incubator and the process.
Moving to Apache is a big decision for an independent OSS project, and the code is all we have as a community. Thus we had protected it for the sake of our community, just as Apache will now. Regardless, we appreciate the criticality of having our code within the Apache infrastructure and in hindsight should have done it much sooner, if not first.
