Hello all, I'm pleased to announce the release of Apache Hadoop 3.0.0-alpha1. This is the first alpha release in a series of planned alphas and betas leading up to 3.0.0 GA, with the intention of quickly gathering and iterating on feedback from downstream users.
Note that as an alpha release, 3.0.0-alpha1 does not come with any guarantees as to API stability or quality, and is not intended for production use. Users are encouraged to read the human-friendly release notes detailing major new features and changes in the release documentaion ( http://hadoop.apache.org/docs/r3.0.0-alpha1/index.html).
