I can't say exactly why you need to hit. Refresh to get your application to
work however I know windows will place that (x86) in the path if you installed
a 32 bit program on a 64 bit system. Windows will place all those programs in
a directory as I guess it needs to run them in some kind of compatibility mode.

Subject: [gears-users] Gears deskto icon shortcut not working on Win 7 and IE 8

Our application creates gears desktop shortcut icon. This shortcut is
not working on Win 7 and IE 8 machine. When disconnected from internet
the shortcut launches browser window but IE gives error that it cannot
display web page due to connection problem. After the F5, it works
fine.

The same application works on windows XP and IE 6.

I also noticed that the shortcut url contains (x86) in the path like
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" http...." on
win 7 IE 8 where as the one on XP and IE 6 does not have that.

What puts (x86) in this path?

Anyone came across same or similar issue or can help with this weird
issue? Thanks!
