Why do we keep hoping they will update support?  They already mentioned they 
are going To be gradually moving away from gears in favor of html5.  I know it 
sucks for developers that are already invested in chrome but google said they 
are leaving chrome.  All you can really do is wait for 5 to be officially 
commissioned.  Or does someone know something I don't about googles plans for 
gears?  Are they planning limited specialty support or something?

Unfortunately not!
On the Gears Website it says that only Firefox 1.5+ is supported. Not
support for other browsers including Chrome or Chromium!
Strange and weird, but what can we do!
