Hi, I just wanted to inform that, per http://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/ticket/5460, I've turned on COPY mode, instead of INSERT, on newly created PostGIS tables, that should result in faster execution time, typically in ogr2ogr to PostGIS scenarios.
Setting PG_USE_COPY=NO will revert to INSERT. In -append scenarios, PG_USE_COPY=YES is still necessary if you want COPY. Please report if you see bad side-effects of this change.
