BTW, here is the link to the beta test suites, for what it's worth: http://cite.opengeospatial.org/te2/

Thank Even& Peter. I see some OGC compliance test available on their site
(http://cite.opengeospatial.org/teamengine/ ). As WMS, WFS and WCS will be
covering only server side testing; it will be of no use to use.
Are the tests available for KML and GML as well?

The coverage model (OGC 09-146r1) [1] is now described in terms of GML 3.2.1. Hence, testing of GML representations is (better said: will be) possible. No KML support, though.

What's the best and fastest
way for us to test if we comply with OGC or not and get the product
certified?

indeed, these are two questions.
- test: download the test script from the OGC repository; however, as the suite still is under development it ain't there yet :( - certification: there need to be at least 3 independent open source implementations of a standard before OGC starts branding (it's all about trusting the test scripts...). We currently have: rasdaman, MapServer (in the make), and GMU's implementation (in the make). So we will be able to do branding. This means: you have to approach OGC, demonstrate that you pass the suite, and then you are entitled to use the certified branding.

Does anyone have any experience in this regards (how long it can
take, how much it costs, etc)?

- time: currently the test scripts run ~2 hrs. Add download of the scripts + getting them to run on your machine (effort should be limited, and you can get assistance from us or others) - costs: test suite download is free. Branding requires some bucks, but I am not involved in this, hence don't know.

Gaurav

my pleasure.

hi all,

indeed OGC conformance tests currently cover only the server side.
First thoughts have been made on how to include client side testing, but
this can be expected to come in a few years.

Selon Gaurav Garg<gau...@vizexperts.com>:

To the best of my knowledge, GDAL/OGR is not formally certified to be
compliant to OGC specification. It implements clients for the WMS, WCS
and WFS specifications. It also implements the GML standard (but not
to its full extent). But AFAIK, the OGC compliance tests only deal
with the server side of those specifications, but I might be wrong on that
matter.

Hi,

We have a GIS product based on GDAL/OGR. We have been asked if the
product is OGC compliant. Is GDAL/OGR compliant to OGC
specifications? If yes, what all specifications are supported?

Thanks,

Gaurav
