Folks, The GDAL/OGR project is pleased to announce the release of GDAL/OGR 1.4.5. This is anticipated to be the last release on the 1.4 branch. The current stable branch is 1.6, and the 1.5 stable branch will continued to be maintained for a while. However, this should be treated as the "end of support" for the 1.4 branch.
