As most of you are probably aware, glibc is also discussing whether or not to remove the copyright assignment mandate to the FSF. I believe there are many complex issues related to the issue of where copyrights for Free Software projects like GCC go, and while I've written quite a lot of detail there, I think some of what I've written may be useful as GCC considers how to build long-term robust plans to assure that the copyleft of GCC is upheld for the long-term. -- Bradley M.
