Given the original files on sourceware I'm happy to use ffmpeg to convert them to WebM at a similar bit-rate (though someone else may have more experience and a better idea of the best configuration for the conversion - I'd just be following instructions such as <https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Encode/VP8>). (If there's space I think we should have both the original files and the WebM files there, to allow for future reencoding from the original to whatever better unencumbered formats may become available in future to replace WebM.) -- Joseph S.
