Yes, it does, but not 'directly', that is the command-line to ld does not have '-lgcc_s.1'.
Also the *.1.dylib versionsof libgcc_s are the only shared library versions available. Lastly, the files in /usr/libare very confusing on MacOS X 10.4. I see... You should ignore the 'libgcc_s*.1.0.dylib', they're old. Where you should look depends on the question you're asking.
