I checked in a couple of patches, so now most front-ends work
more-or-less (i.e with some but not a large number of regressions).

The Java front-end compiles but fails to run, so bootstrapping fails if
java is enabled. I haven't looked into it.  This is a regression -
it used to work.  If the problem is specific to compiling from source,
that may reduce its importance, if it's in code that will be replaced
by ecj.

I have two tentative volunteers to help finish MAPPED_LOCATION.
Steven Bosscher hopes to find time to work on save/restore of the
line-map table. Ben Elliston will take a look at the other
(non-pch-related) regressions.  We all have too many things on our
plates, so if someone else would like to pitch in, just let us know.
