4.2 hasn't bootstrapped on powerpc-apple-darwin G5 machine for a very long time

4.2 hasn't bootstrapped on powerpc-apple-darwin G5 machine for a very  
long time.  I'm seeing the same problem as

It would be nice if this were remedied.  I do try to test gcc  
versions before release.
