Well, some of the GCC developers have been publishing in their adult life too. I guess, the real issue as far as GCC is concerned must be somewhere else. Reasonable people with fair technical backgrounds can look at the same problems and come up with different conclusions. Sometimes, some people come to GCC developers with the assumptions that they must be obscure ignorant and miles-of-code-writers-without- thinking and as such are very willing to endlessly lecture them about how ignorant they are and how they should do their jobs. That can not only irritate but also contribute to "blood pressure". Furthermore, it is also assumed that since people working on GCC earn part of their business on working on GCC, they de facto become slaves of the lecturer/manager-du-jour. That is not meant to excuse what you perceive to be rudeness, but to point out that the communication channel works both ways. -- Gaby
