Hi Fisnik, Martin,

Apologies for not answering earlier - the past few weeks have been a bit crazy. As Martin said, our primary mode of communication is the Zulip groupchat linked below, but we can also communicate via email if you prefer.

To get started on contributing, I think you are on the right track! Getting the project to build and running tests is difficult for a first timer, so well done. I would suggest picking an issue tagged with the `good-first-pr` label, and trying to work on it and submitting a PR. I'm available for helping you get around the codebase and figure out what changes are needed.

Hope you have a good time working on the project :)

Best,

Arthur

Hi,

My name is *Fisnik* and I am a programmer and recent graduate with a

Unless you can sleep at your keyboard, of course.

I have stumbled upon *GSoC* for 2026 and I am really curious and truly
want to be part of this years *GSoC* programming, and contribute my part
to the Open-Source community. I am proficient in C++ and up with most of
the latest language changes. I also have intermediate level of C
programming.

I read through the GCC for GSoC (https://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/SummerOfCode)
for this year. I am interested in the Rust Front-End project, and read
the information regarding it and what is needed to be implemented and
solved.

Please note that Rust GCC projects are a bit special in the sense that
they are often discussed primarily on Zulip of the GCC-Rust team:

https://gcc-rust.zulipchat.com/

So you may want to reach out to the GCC-Rust community primarily there.

Good luck!

Martin
